Pollinator Garden Planting at Athey Creek Middle School
Posted by West Linn-Wilsonville on 12/13/2023Students from West Linn High School got their hands dirty in helping to plant a new pollinator garden at Athey Creek Middle School. The plants were provided through a materials grant from the Xerces Society. 39 different plants were put into the garden using native species to Oregon like milkweed, deerbrush, lupine, and others. The plants help pollinators like bees, birds, and butterflies survive which in turn help the plants who depend on healthy pollinators. The hard work from our students was not only a learning opportunity but will leave a legacy of making our community an ecologically stronger place.
